Weekend Fun

On Saturday I went to Disneyland with Jen, Matt and the kids. We had a great time. We got there right about 8am and were ready to head home by 4pm. It was pretty empty when we got there since they had just opened and we were able to get on a good amount of rides before 10. Matt and I took Travis on Space Mountain for his first time ever. That kid loved it. When we got off he told us that he has to go on it every time we go to Disneyland. We also took him on Matterhorn, which he had never been on either and he loved that also. It was good to get him out of the phase on not going on any big rides.

This is Travis being silly in line for Pirates. He wanted me to take an upside down picture of him.

We went through Mickey's house and even got to meet him!!
Theresa loves Minnie Mouse!! She wanted her picture taken with her. Travis, of course being a boy wanted no part of that.

The kids in Jail!!!

Travis is line for Matterhorn.

The best part about having an annual pass is I did not feel bad leaving early!! I can go back anytime I want.
We did go to the Train Festical in Fillmore today and had our annual Tri Tip Sandwich. We walked around a little bit and then came home. Jeremy went over to a friend's house while I stayed home and tried to nurse my wrist. Oh yeah I sprained my wrist, or at least that's what we think I did the other day. So I have been keeping it wrapped up and I put ice on it. I slipped on the kitchen floor that I was cleaning and stopped my self with my hand. I am a danger to myself these days.

Thursday's are going to suck!!

Next week is the very last episode of ER, which happens to be my very favorite tv show!!! I have watched from the beginning and I can not believe that it is almost over. What will they put in it's place?? Maybe they will show all the episodes from the beginning which would be wonderful. We still have Survivor and CSI but what are we going to do without ER???

Train Festival

The Filmore train festival is this weekend. We will be going for sure on Saturday. My dad has a booth and makes yummy tri tip sandwiches so we always go and have lunch there. I look forward to this all year long! Hopefully there will be a good turn out this year with the economy issues.

Movie Review

Last night we decided to go to the movies. I thought that we were going to see I Love You Man, but as it turns out we saw Knowing with Nicholas Cage. The special effects of this movie were great but boy am I glad that we did not pay to watch it. I hated the movie!! And the creepy whisper people who did not talk through the whole thing creeped me out!! I recommend that if you are going to see this movie, wait until it is out on video. Don't waste your money to watch it!!

Friday night Borders was having a release party for the Twilight movie so we took Emily to get her special edition. We were very bored at the party and were very glad to get her movie and come back home. Jeremy went to Target at 8 am on Saturday to get our Blu Ray copy because only Target and Best Buy have the blu ray copies until May.

Tonight we must go to the grocery store since our cupboards are bare. I hate grocery shopping. We always spend way to much money and never seem to get anything good.

Plans for tonight?

I have plans for tonight that I will share later. Today I did laundry and dishes and cleaned up a bunch of stuf. Now I am tired and ready for a nap.

Apples to Apples

Last night (saturday night) Jen, Matt, Travis, Theresa and I played Apples to Apples. For those of you who don't know this game it is a fun word game, which can get pretty bad depending on who you are playing it with. Basically a player lays down a card with a word like "pretty" and the other players have to choose a card from their hand that best fits the word. One time while playing the word was dysfunctional and somebody put down family, which we all thought was pretty funny. When you play with Matt who pretty much have to put down the most random thing or the complete oppisite because that is normally what he picks. Anyway guess who won on Saturday....give up?? Theresa beat us all. We were shocked that the 4 year old (almost 5 years old) beat 3 adults and her 7 year old brother. None of us could figure out how that happened as she would just pick any card out of her hand pretty much without knowing what the word was. Or maybe she did know what the word was and is just smarter than the rest of us! I do have to thank my wonderful Aunt Heather for introducing us to this game!! Travis did get the junior edition for Christmas but he still likes to play with the older version also. It is good though because it is teaching the kids new words and the meaning of words since we normally have to explain what they mean.

Anyway I have been stuck on the couch all day. I slipped and fell in the bathroom Friday night and reinjured my ankle. It is now popping when I walk and is very painful. Of course it is the same ankle that I sprained 7 years ago and has tendonitis in it. I am hoping that it stops hurting tomorrow so I can go see Denise on Tuesday, she is going to Disneyland again since the 3 day ticket the military gave her expires on Saturday. So now I am in bed and watching season 5 of Roseanne. I own seasons 1 and 2 and borrowed the rest from my sister. I am trying to finish watching her dvds so I can give them back to her.

Blogging

I was trying to do a post a day but when you don't ever go anywhere it's hard to come up with something to blog about. I am going to get a pedicure tonight. I have not gotten one in over a month and jeremy's mom is in town so we will be at her house for dinner and playing with the kids.

I have come to realize that daytime tv is boring. I have been watching way to much Wife Swap and Trading Spouses. They show repeats on CMT. I usually turn the tv on for background noise. I think next week I am going to limit the tv and listen to music. Maybe that way I will get more cleaning done. My goal is to get the house cleaned out before I finally get a job. I spend Monday mornings searching the newspaper and the EDD website looking for a job. They seem to never have any new positions. I also look agin on Wednesday's and Friday's. Somedays i wish that the easy button from Staples really worked and I could just push it and all would be ok.

Things to do...

Today I need to do laundry and wash the dishes. I also need to go to the grocery store, which I hate doing. I looked for a job today and sent out a few resumes. Hopefully I will find something that pays me what I need to get paid.

We watched American Idol last night and were surprised by some of the Michael jackson songs that they chose to sing. We knew most of them, but there were a few that we did not know. For the most part they did pretty good. I can't wait to see who goes home tonight.

Disneyland

Here are a few pictures from Disneyland yesterday.

We went on the Monsters Inc. ride, which is in California Adventure. This is Roz from the movie she is at the end of the ride and talks to you while you are waiting to get off.

And here is a blurry picture of Sully. They car moved to quick so most of the pictures came out blurry.
Here is Denise and Gretchen on the Mal a Boomer or however the heck it is spelled. This was taken right as the ride sends you soaring to the sky.

And here are their feet and Denise's hand, she was waving to us.
The lagoon has been emptied of water and they are turning the Sun Wheel Ferris Wheel into Mickey's Fun Wheel. Apparently they have decided to make California Adventure more Disney like to attract more people.

This is the yummy alcholic beverage that I enjoyed at the bar inside California Adventure. It was so nice to be able to take a break from all of the crowds and strollers and sit in an outside bar with a nice adult beverage.

I have been trying for years to get a good picture of the faces from Haunted Mansion. I finally was able to get a decent one!!!

I thought this looked pretty neat. It's the "floating head" from Haunted Mansion.

I will be going back to Disneyland as often as I can during the next year. Gretchen and I have plans to buy one of the autograph books and see how many characters we can get to sign it. Also we did go one It's a Small World and found out that they have added 29 new characters, actual Disney ones even. There is Cinderella and the mice, Alice in Wonderland, some Toy Story characters and there is an America Room now. I did not take any pictures while we were on that, but I will next time I go.

Guess what I found...

Last night we went on the hunt for Jumpin Jack Flash. We finally found it at Barnes and Noble for $10!! Of course I had to come straight home and watch it. I had forgotten how funny it was.

Tomorrow I get to see Denise. We are going to go to Disneyland, which is kind of funny actually because the last time I saw her we went to Disneyland.

We are going to head to my dad's house today because my Aunt Robin will be here.

The other day I was driving Theresa to Tutor Time and hands me a piece of paper that she had rolled up to kind of look like a bat. She told me it was for me to beat up her uncle with wen he did not listen to me. That kid cracksme up somedays.

Friday Night

Well it is another boring Friday night here at our house. We need to go buy toilet paper, what a fun and exicting thing to do tonight. Maybe we will go rent a movie. I was putting laundry away last night and stepped down wrong and twisted my ankle so I guess that does not leave a lot of options open for us to do anything.

Jumpin Jack Flash...

I heard Jumpin Jack Flash on the radio today and it made me want to watch the movie really bad. I need to go buy the movie because I love it! My favorite scene has to be when Whoopi is in the telephone booth that is being dragged down the street by a tow truck and she calls the police and tells them "Help me, I'm a little black woman in a big silver box, you can't miss me". I laugh every time I watch that part. I also love when she is trying to figure out the lyrics to Jumpin Jack Flash and she comes up with "I was raised by 2 lesbians" when it actually says "I was raised by a toothless, bearded hag".

I was trying to find a picture of her in the phone booth but I could not find one. IF you have not seen this movie you need to it is great!! We have this great thing on our DVR, you can dowload movies, a lot are free, but some you have to pay for, so I am going to go check to see if this movie is available.

Blog Stalking...

Yes I am addicted to blog stalking. I love reading about other peoples lives. However last year my mom came across this blog.

http://www.mattlogelin.com/

Which is all about a guy whose wife had their baby and then she passed away the next day. This was one of the saddest blogs that I had ever read and I check his blog daily to watch how he is rasing his adorable little girl.

Well a few months agon I came across this blog...

http://www.thegledhillfamily.blogspot.com/

This is the story of a family whose 4th child was born with a heart condition. A little over a week ago this little girl received a heart transplant, which her little body then rejected the heart. There was nothing else anyone could do for her so they made the painful decision to turn off her life support and she passed away on Monday. When I first read this blog I was so hopeful that she would be ok and then last week I checked it for the first time in months and have followed it every day since. A fair warning if you read it make sure you have like 5 boxes of kleenex.

I think now that I have shared these 2 blogs I need to find a new blog to follow that is a happier one! I love watching about Matt (the first blog) is raising his daughter on his own. He is one very strong man.

American Idol...

Yes I watch American Idol, I will admit to it. However this young man Nathaniel Marshall (why does he have to have the same last name as me??) has totally screwed up Meatloaf's "Anything for Love". This guy is so darn cheesy. He is the biggest whinney crybaby I think I have ever seen on this show. Also his appearnace is terrible. He LOVES to wear headbands that remind of Olivia Newton John (Thanks to Simon for mentioning that tonight) and he has a lot of tattoos and is trying to look like a "Bad Boy", but come on he is so super GAY it's not even funny (not that I have anything against gay people). I wish that there was already a picture out there of his outfit tonight. I am going to search for one tomorrow and look to see what other outfits he has worn and post as many as I can so you all can see what a DORK this guy really is. My apologies to anyone who does like him. He justs needs to decide which way his appearnace is going to go, he confuses me.

Just one of those days...

Today I thought I would get some stuff done but I am just not into cleaning today. So I have spent the last hour going through pictures from Gretchen's wedding which was almost 2 years ago!! I am now finally going to put them into a photo album. I also started looking at my wedding albums and realized that one of them is breaking so I am going to put them into new albums. I might even get around to writing captions next to them so someday when someones asks me who is in a picture I can tell them who is was. We have a lot of wedding pictures, one of the albums holds 700 pictures and it is full, so I think that I am going to need at least 4 albums for mine, yikes that seems like a lot of albums to buy. I think I will go to Kohls where they seem to have them an clearance a lot. I bought one there about 2 weeks ago and it was like $8.00 plus I got another 20% off of it. I am hoping that they still have some left. I think I will run down there now.

Exciting day....

It's Sunday and what are we going to do today? We are going to do laundry and while the sun is out we need to go outside and pull weeds and mow the strip of grass that we own. Wow exciting stuff I know, it's just to much to handle!!

We did go bowling last night and had a lot of fun. You know with the crappy economy places are such giving deals to get people to come in. We paid $17 per person for almost 4 hours of unlimited bowling. That was our treat for probably the next month.

I just realized that it is now March. Where did February go??
