An email from my friend...

I just read this email from from my friend Julie. It was sent to her by her mom.

If any of you guys tell me you already knew this I will REALLY feel like a dummy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who ever looks at the ends of your aluminum foil box? What a fantastic idea. (go look).
Now, if someone would just make plastic wrap that didn't stick to itself. I've been using aluminum foil for more years than I care to remember. Great stuff, but sometimes it can be a pain. You know, like when you are in the middle of doing something and you try to pull some foil out and the roll comes out of the box. Then you have to put the roll back in the box and start over.

Well, I would like to share this with you. Yesterday I went to throw out an empty Reynolds foil box and for some reason I turned it and looked at the end of the box. And written on the end it said, Press here to lock end. Right there on the end of the box is a tab to lock the roll in place. How long has this little locking tab been there?

I then looked at a generic brand of aluminum foil and it had one, too. I then looked at a box of Saran wrap and it had one too. I can't count the number of times the Saran wrap roll has jumped out when I was trying to cover something up. Go on, go look at your boxes!

Now being me I frist think that this is a joke until I went and looked at my foil box and sure enough there is a tab on each end that you are supposed to push in to keep the darn roll from popping out of the box!!!!! How come I never noticed that before??

Grandma Do...Meghan this is for you

I remember one of my last visits with Grandma Do. A group of us family had gone to see her and she kept calling me Meghan. I remember thinking "I am not Meghan. She has red hair, I don't. She is a little kid, I was not a little kid". I do know that towards the end of the visit she knew who I was. But yes Meghan you were there so you did meet her!!

Anyway these are some of my favorite pictures of her. I really like the one with her and my grandpa because he is smiling!!! ( a rare sight to see)

Laina

Today is Laina's turn for old pictures. I was trying to find some that I had not already posted but I could not find any. I must start going through my other collection of pictures. Laina turned 25 in May, (yikes!!!) and she is a teacher and we are all very proud of her!! She lives in North Carolina so we don't get to see her very often. Here is a picture of her with Evann.
And one with Laina and her mom (my favorite Aunt Sally). I am going to look for more picture of her because I know I have some good ones somewhere!!!

Needed a good laugh

Since today has been a pretty crappy day (I will blog about that later) I felt I needed a good laugh. So I found this cute picture of Uncle Jim and Evann sleeping.
And this lovelt picture of my brother Joseph. I know that he dressed himself that day. He had a thing for cowboy boots and would wear them with anything. He even decorated that shirt himself with puff paints!!!

Happy Father's Day and thanks for always being the best uncles anyone could ever have!!!!

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to my Dad, Grandpa and all of my favorite uncles!!!

This first picture is my dad and brother back in 1982!!! I think it was at a 4th of July block party that we used to go to every year.

This is my dad and grandpa, who knows what year maybe 83?? Anyway I figured I better stick with old pictures for Father's Day since that I am doing for June. What's scary is that my brother looks just like my dad now!!

Funny Faces

Not sure what it is about this family and maing funny faces. It started when us kids were young and we used to take a kid picture on Christmas Eve, we would take a normal one and a funny one. Then we would do the same with a whole family picture. Notice how my grandpa would cover his face or just stare at the camera.

I know that there are mor pictures like this. I am going to have to find them all now!! So anyone who has one please email me a copy!!

Your face is gonna freeze that way....

How many times as a kid did you make a weird face and be told that your face was gonna freeze that way?? This is a picture of my cousin Zak and our Uncle Jim making one of those faces. I know that we have pictures of other funny faces that I am going to have to find now.
This is Zak doing something weird.

And again being weird on Christmas Eve. Notice how it looks like my mom is looking at him oddly and my grandpa is ignoring the poor kid.

And here he is being a brat at our aunt's wedding. I think the title of this picture of this cd of pictures it "Zak being a little Shit". He did not want to wear those clothes at all, but he was awful cute. This cute little boy turned 18 this year!!! I used to babysit him and his sisters it is just not right that he is 18!!!! Happy very late 18th Birthday to Zak!! (his b-day was in January!!)

Joseph

Do you know that I have a brother named Joseph?? Sometimes I don't remember that I do. I only see him about once a year. When he was a boy he had red hair that was straight and shiney and always looked like he had a bowl haircut. I think he is like 26 or so now. I won't bore anyone with the details of why we never see him and will just leave it at he always works. He is a train engineer. This kid loved trains from when he was a little kid until now. I do remember him also having imaginary friends (Jerry and Helicopter where there names). He would get mad if you sat on one of them!!

This cake face picture was taken after one of his birthday parties!!! And the Sombero picture was taken at my grandparents house. That hat was brought back from one of their vacations and I think all of us took turns wearing it. Joseph was the only one who got caught on camera with it!!

Happy Birthday Grandpa

Today June 11th would and still is my grandpa's birthday!! He was such a great man and a wonderful grandpa. I could not have asked for a better one!!

This is grandpa is Japan when he went with my Uncle Gary a few years ago.

At Aunt Heather's wedding. She had to tickle him to get him to smile. He did not smile much in pictures.

This picture was from Christmas time. Not sure who decorated him, but this is one of my favorite pictures.

This was from a boat trip he took with my uncle Jim. I think it was his last boat trip. He loved the ocean and sailing!!

Happy Birthday Grandpa!! I love you and miss you lots!!

Aunt Heather and Me!!

Yikes, I found this picture of me and my favorite Aunt Heather. What's funny is I remember playing with that monkey all of the time at Grandma and Grandpa's house!! I was the first kid born on my Mom's side of the family so I got to spend a lot of time alone with my aunts and uncles, until all those other kids came along, then I had to share!!!
I wonder who's beer that is in the picture. I know it's not mine!!

Laina and Joseph

This is my brother Joseph and our cousin Laina. When they were kids Laina had this thing for Joseph, she loved him and I think he could not understand why this little girl would follow him around all of the time.

Look at the look in Laina's eyes as she watches the poor boy.

I love this picture. Laina wanted to give him a hug and he wanted her to leave him alone!!!

Renee

This is my cousin Renee and her goat, I think his name was Denis. Which I never understood where he got his name. Renee is in Paris now until August I think and I know that she is homesick so I thought why not post some pictures of her!!! I know I can be so mean!!

This is Renee being a monkey and climbing a pole.

And this is Renee and my Uncle Gary (her dad). I want to say that this was at Christmas time. I do remember that after every Thanksgiving, Christmas and family bbq, someone (usually my grandpa) would take a nap in Grandpa's chair. I really need to go through more pictures and find all the ones of people sleeping in this chair.
Hope you are enjoying your time in Paris Renee and when you get back you need to come visit us in California!!! We miss you lots!!
