I saw thia article today and I got a good laugh out of it. I beleive in spanking your child when they misbehave, no not beating them, just a good swat on the butt. Now it is being said that if you spank your child it will make them have sexual problems. What the hell is that??? Where did they find the people that they used for case studies? Did they look into their entire background of childhood? Who gives this professor the right to tell us if we can spank our children or not? I tell I have been to Walmart and seen way to many unruley kids who need a good spanking. Maybe that is why we have all of these terrible teenagers and gang members, their parents did not spank them enough!!!

NEW YORK (Reuters Life!) - Parents who teach "tough love" by disciplining their children with spankings could be making them more likely to have sexual problems as teenagers and adults, a leading researcher said.
Professor Murray Straus, of the University of New Hampshire, found that children who are spanked or experience other corporal punishment have a raised risk as teenagers and adults to verbally or physically coerce a partner into having sex.
"It's more evidence that parents should not spank if the wellbeing of their children is at stake," he said in an interview.
Straus analyzed the results of the International Dating Violence Study, a survey of more than 14,000 university students at 68 universities in 32 countries. The students were asked if they had been spanked or hit frequently before age 12 and if they had coerced a sexual partner in the previous 12 months.
Men who had experienced corporal punishment were four times more likely to physically coerce a partner into having sex, than those who had not experienced a lot of corporal punishment.
Physical coercion includes holding someone down or hitting them. Women who had experienced corporal punishment were also more likely to coerce sex from a partner than those who had not been spanked.
"People generalize that the use of coercion, physical coercion, is okay. They learn that from people they love and respect - their parents," said Straus, who presented the findings at a summit of the American Psychological Association.
Both men and women who had experienced corporal punishment as children were less than 10 percent more likely than those who had not been spanked to verbally coerce sex from a partner.
Straus said studies have shown that corporal punishment leads to low self control and self esteem, as well as aggressiveness, antisocial personalities and the understanding that violence is okay which may lead to sexual coercion.
He added that there are alternative ways to discipline children that work better and do not have side effects.

American Idol
Yes I watch American Idol. I have to say that the girls really suck this year. I am enjoying certain contestants on the boys side. Last night I was shocked by the way that the "Rockin Nurse" was and how she sounded. She is the freaky one who looks like Cruella Deville or Elvira. I was trying to find a picture of her but I could not find one from last night. I liked her in the beginning but she should be on another show, one meant for rockers not for American Idol. I do like Michael Johns the guy from Australia. He sings pretty good. I am getting tired of the gay and way to happy people. American Idol needs to have a new type of winner.

Work Update
I was told yesterday that I might be asked to stay on longer here at work than the March 31st closing date. If This happens then it looks like I might be working from home as our lease is over on 3/31. I am not sure if I want to take the job because I am not sure how long it is for. I guess I will wait and see what the offer is it if ever comes through.

Looking for a new job....
We were informed at work today that our company is closing as of March 31st. I get to look for a new job now, not my favorite thing to do. I really likes my job and it sucks that I get to start all over again after 5 years of working there. So if anybody knows of a job opening up in April let me know.

Knee Update
My knee still hurts. I went back to Urgent Care last Sunday. They took xrays and said that i did not fracture anything. I am now going to Physical Therapy and they want me to see an orthopedic surgeon. Apparently because I am not using that leg as much I am losing muscle mass. I still have not decided wether to see the surgeon or not. If it can be fixed with the therapy then i want to stick with that. I got to go 3 times this week and so far just twice next week. Maybe I will make the decision about the surgeon after my appointments next week.
